Broomfield (April 4, 2011) - The Children’s Hospital Network of Care, Westminster, will be relocating to a new and larger building at Arista. The Children’s Hospital Broomfield Therapy Center broke ground today with a kick-off ceremony celebrating the construction of the new 19,900-square-foot site.

The current Westminster location has 10,920-square-feet and is shared amongst other businesses. In 2010, this location had 21,446 patient visits.

“We welcome the opportunity to build a new Network of Care location in Broomfield, at the hub of the Northwest Corridor,” said Jim Shmerling, president and CEO of The Children’s Hospital. “Undoubtedly, there will be a greater need to serve families in this growing area and we will enthusiastically meet that need. We believe that children and their families deserve a way to access the same, excellent care available on our main campus, but in their own backyards.”

The new building will be occupied solely by The Children’s Hospital. Additional treatment and consult rooms will be offered at the new location. The therapy center will continue to provide occupational therapy, physical therapy and speech and learning services. In addition, audiology will be added and the deaf and hard of hearing services will be expanded at the new Arista location. The physical therapy gym space also will grow in size.

The new site will be located at the intersection of Arista Place and Uptown Avenue.

Patrick Quinn, mayor, City of Broomfield, Jim Shmerling, president and CEO, The Children’s Hospital, Deborah Obermeyer, president and CEO, Metro North Chamber, Stephen M. Munsinger, president, Scottish Rite Foundation, Garrett Baum, managing partner, Urban Frontier and The Daniels Fund members were all in attendance to show their support of this new endeavor.
